The News Revenue Hub, a nonprofit that builds web-based products and provides consulting to news organizations in service of the public good, is seeking a Survey and Audience Research Specialist to assist with developing a robust methodology for newsroom research, including surveys and quantitative data collection.

We’re looking for someone with market research or audience research experience. As a survey and audience specialist, you’ll work directly with Hub staff and partner with newsrooms on our client roster. This position will be on a project-by-project basis with competitive pay.

Your chief responsibilities will include:

  • Developing thoughtful audience surveys for newsrooms to evaluate current performance of client assets, such as newsletters, campaign messaging, content, and more;
  • Building surveys for clients in SurveyMonkey and Google Forms;
  • Working with the Hub success team to craft client feedback surveys to help the Hub gauge service performance;
  • Creating audience survey templates for evaluating specific assets like newsletters on a recurring basis.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years’ of proven experience with audience or market research;
  • Experience with Survey Monkey, Google Forms, and Mailchimp;
  • Solid understanding of research methods;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Experience working in journalism or with media a plus.
