The Lenfest Institute announced the winners of its local news innovation grants and its first cohort of entrepreneurs-in-residence this week. $1 million is going to the Philadelphia Media Network, and another $1 million is going to 12 different projects and to five individuals working on local-news focused projects. The News Revenue Hub, which helps smaller news outlets across the U.S. develop sustainable membership programs, is among the grantees. The Hub will orient some of its efforts toward helping Philadelphia-based organizations. (Nieman Lab)
